wasn't quite sure what i was doing on this one. Just a list, or a list with commentary. So i did both.

She made a list of things, other than
toiletries and clothes, to pack for the journey.
- Passport
- Wallet
- Extra glasses(a lesson learned from a previous trip where the road signs on the trip back were just blurry colors)
- Phone(this one has eliminated so many things that used to be on her lists: alarmclock, camera, calendar, maps)
- Maps(ok, maybe the phone didn't completely replace maps. She always takes those as a backup in case the phone dies or there is no GPS. A long stretch of deserted road in the panhandle with the gas gauge sitting on emtpy put the maps back in her car)
- Pillow
- Two paperback books.
- Apples, bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a knife
- Water
With everything on the list, and her in
the car, she was ready to begin. Just one more thing to make sure she
had before she left: Steve.

The
Prompt
Today,
your task is to make a list. A literary list, that is.
Grocery
lists, to-do lists, or goals lists written with the effect of showing
a person’s life, their struggles, their failures, etc, are terrific
pieces of flash.
They
test the reader’s inferential powers.
Your
challenge: provide a list of items from a luxurious bedroom, an
overstuffed garage, or a refrigerator. Use specific concrete details.
Reveal a sketch of a person’s life through these items. Imply
something.
