J. Smith Kirkland grew up in a haunted house in Dallas Bay, TN. This probably contributes to the fact that his fictional stories revolve around fate, ghosts, witches, and legends. His "Witches" and "Tales of the Catalin" series can be found on Amazon along with his essays in collections like "Growing Up Without WiFi" and other short stories.
He is a member of the Hixson, TN based writers group that publishes Crazy Buffet Club collections of short stories by the group's writers. They publish a collection yearly since 2018 (except that one year we don't speak of). The collections are an eclectic set of stories by an eclectic group of writers. Each includes a J. Smith Kirkland story along with the excellent stories by the other crazy writers.
