Chia Man and The Disc of Infinite Power

Fae Darling and Professor Crispin were determined to collect all of the 10 Magical Items Banned from Ebay before the evil villains could obtain them. The duo had obtained two so far, and the evil villain Vuluptula had another. Seven were still unaccounted for, but Fae's keen intuition had concluded that the Disc of Infinite Power was was somewhere nearby, and her investigation led them to the abandoned building near the old ball stadium. They must get there before someone else also discovers the location.

They arrive at the building as their super hero personalities, Chia Man and Chachiwa. As the searched for the Disc of Infinite Power, a figure appeared in the shadows on a stairway above them.

“I should have known you two would be in my way”

The figure steps into the light to reveal it is Vuluptula. She throws a grappling hook to the railing above, and swings down to land in front of her two distractors.

“And we knew you could not be far behind,” Chia Man retorts, “but you will never get the Disc of Infinite Power.”

“We will see about that.”

She raises her hand, and three of her henchmen come out of the shadows.

“There are more of us than you,” Vuluptula laughs.

Just then a set of double doors in the back of the room swing open, the sunlight floods in, and a voice says, “And there are more of us than all of you.”

A figure steps out of the light. It is Tichity Twichet, another evil villain that graduated from E.V.U. in the same class as Vuluptula. He is followed by seven of his goons.

“Twichy, what are you doing here,” Vuluptula snarls.

“It's Twichet. Mr. Twitchet to you, Vultura.”

“That's Dr. Vuluptula to you, undergradute.”

As the battle of words continued between the two, and the henchmen and goons were anxiously awaiting a signal to rumble, Chia Man is also preparing for a scuffle. But Fae comes up behind him and whispers, “I got it. Let's go.”

While the others were tossing verbal daggers at each other, Fae had retrieved the disc without notice. The two quietly left the building.

Back in the lab, the Fae discover that the item is actually not the Disc of Infinite Wisdom. The intelligence she received was just slightly off, and she had to give the Professor the bad news.

“So, it's not the item on the list? What is it then?”

She sits his mostly empty glass on it, and the glass is immediately refilled with a dark colored fizzy liquid. He takes a sip, and makes a displeased face.

“What is this?”

“It's Dr. Perky. You don't get name brands with the Coaster of Infinite Refills,” Fae explains, “but it's actually pretty good once you aren't expecting the real thing.”

Indeed, Chia Man and Chachiwa had once again outsmarted their rival, but they will have to wait for another day to check another item off of the list obtained from the 10 Magical Items Banned from Ebay.

The Prompt

Choose an object within reach of where you’re sitting. Three people desperately want this object. Write a scene or story in which the characters fight over said object. Ideally choose an object that people wouldn’t obviously fight over.

Story A Day Framework

A super hero is trying to collect a list of magic objects before the villains get them

So he tracks down one of the objects

and because of that, he encounter an evil villain

And because of the energy they emit together, they attract another villain

And because of that, the three fight for the object

Until the super Hero, really his sidekick, saves the object and the villains retreat until another day.
